Life in Japan on Film
One the many things that life in Japan has taught me is the way each season leaves behind an imprint of colours, tastes, and feelings, never again to be repeated. Yet one of the draws about film photography, to me, is that the negative stays tangible and fixed. Throughout the process of photographic development, past moments reveal themselves once more in the journey from mystery to rediscovery. I find this slow process of rediscovery to be a welcome reprieve from everything else that’s instant.

Iki Island・壱岐島
A remote island in Nagasaki Prefecture off the coast of Fukuoka where some friends lived. There in the sun among the sea you feel free.

Fukuoka・福岡
Under the canopy of cherry blossoms, petals fluttered like snow. A few weeks later their traces were gone and roses sprouted in brilliant bloom. In this park, spring showcased its hand with its different cards of beauty, from the delicate to the magnificent.
